Thanks to the new FX5 microcontroller, our USB-TMC adapter now achieves even higher data rates and thus enables faster communication with correspondingly high USB speeds. The USB-TMC adapter supports all common USB protocols such as USB 3.2, USB 3.0 and more.
Here is an overview of the most important facts about the USB-TMC adapter from TSEP:
1. What can the USB-TMC adapter do?
The newly developed adapter from TSEP turns any conventional USB port (USB 3.2) of a measuring device into a USB-TMC port (up to USB 3.2). It can be placed directly on the customer-specific hardware or plugged into a free USB port via an adapter.
In the past, there were only a few options for measuring device manufacturers to provide a USB-TMC interface for their measuring devices. They either had to develop their own implementation or buy the corresponding chips in large quantities.
2. What are the USPs of our adapter?
- The adapter makes it possible to provide a USB-TMC interface on the measuring device, even for smaller quantities.
- It can be operated at high data rates (USB 3.2).
- At TSEP, everything comes from a single source: We provide both the hardware and the software stack for USB-TMC. There is no need to configure the chips yourself (USB OTG as with other manufacturers) or implement a software stack.
- Bonus: The TSEP Remote Framework POSEIDON supports the adapter natively.
The new demo boards with the USB-TMC adapter will be available to our customers for testing until the end of March.
