TSEP on the Sensor+Test 2018
In 2017, TSEP began to actively draw attention to its products and services. This was done not only via the press or online streaming services, but also via a specialist trade fair in Germany. In 2017, TSEP co-exhibited with Microsoft at the Embedded World. This year TSEP will have its very own stand at the SENSOR + TEST in Nuremberg.

With almost three months to go before the start of this year's metrology trade fair on June 26, 2018 in Nuremberg, the program of lectures has been extensively fixed for visitors. The current 56 lectures and the special session on the special topic "Sensors and Measurement in the Industrial Internet" were examined in advance by an expert panel in order to further increase the benefit for the visitors.
TSEP, Wednesday, June 27, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm Hall 1
TSEP will be giving a talk on Time synchronization with IEEE 1588 v2 and White Rabbit on Wednesday, June 27, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
The time synchronization over 1588 has been codified since 2008 as an IEEE standard and is already used in various areas. Previously, the use of this standard was always associated with exotic hardware. With the introduction of the Intel network chip families Intel I21x and Intel I35x, this standard is now available for the consumer market. Within the presentation, possible application scenarios and their accuracy are presented. In addition, the problems that can occur to achieve the required accuracy are shown. The CERN Research Institute has defined its own enhancement, the White Rabbit Standard, to improve the IEEE 1588 standard. Within the presentation, the extensions are shown and the achievable accuracy is discussed.

On Thursday, June 28th, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm, TSEP will give a talk on The change in remote control from the central test computer to distrubted systems .
Measuring devices have been directly controlled by control computers for more than 50 years. Here a star-shaped topology has become established. Various hardware standards (GPIB, RS-232, LAN, USB etc.) and software (SCPI, IVI, LabView) were used to control this. With the spread of Ethernet and the associated standard, new concepts are now possible. For this purpose, about 10 years ago, a standard was created by an American consortium (LXI) which defines the behavior of a measuring device on the Ethernet. Due to the widespread use of Ethernet in measurement technology and new standards (LXI and IEEE 1588), distributed and time-synchronized measuring devices are now possible. The presentation will show the new possibilities (distributed system, time-synchronized system) and the advantages of a realized example (transit time measurements of a satellite).
